Staff Accountant

Staff Accountant:

Pearl City, IL A well-established manufacturing organization is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join its accounting team. This position plays a key role in supporting daily accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, and assisting with month-end close activities. The ideal candidate will bring strong accounting fundamentals, manufacturing experience, and a proactive approach to process improvement.

Key Responsibilities:

Maintain fixed asset records, including project tracking, monthly depreciation entries, general ledger reconciliation, and audit-ready documentation Support cash management activities including daily transaction reporting, electronic payments and transfers, accounts payable review, and cash flow analysis Assist with month-end close activities including costing, inventory analysis, adjustments, journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, and financial statement preparation Prepare recurring reports such as weekly inventory and sales reports, brokerage commissions, and state/product board registrations and reporting Assist with internal and external audits by gathering documentation and responding to audit requests Participate in special projects, reporting, and financial analysis as needed Serve as backup support for other accounting team members Identify and recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy across accounting operations Perform additional duties as assigned

Skills & Experience:

Education :

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required

Experience :

2+ years of accounting experience preferred, ideally within a manufacturing environment

Knowledge:

Strong understanding of GAAP required; IFRS knowledge preferred

Software:

Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel proficiency, required
