Temporary, Full-time, Contract Registered Nurse Job Description Job Description Summary:

Our Registered Nurse is responsible for the overall direction of home health assessments and Plans of Care services. The Registered Nurse will assist the Nurse Case Manager and Director of Nursing in the overall responsibility for the quality, adequacy of services provided and supervision of staff. The Registered Nurse will also assist in implementing and evaluating home health services to meet and promote the BrightStar higher standards of quality. Additional Staffing Summary:
Essential Functions Collects data pertinent to the healthcare consumers health or the situation. Analyzes the assessment data to determine actual or potential diagnoses problems and issues. Identifies expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer or the situation. Develops a plan that prescribes strategies to attain expected measurable outcomes. Implements the identified plan coordinates care delivery and employs strategies to promote health and a safe environment. Delegates elements of care to appropriate healthcare workers in accordance with any applicable legal or policy parameters or principles. Evaluates progress toward attainment of goals and outcomes. Practices in a manner that is congruent with cultural diversity and inclusion principles. Communicates effectively in all areas of practice. Collaborates with healthcare consumer and other key stakeholders in the conduct of nursing practice. Leads within the professional practice setting and the profession. Integrates evidence and research findings into practice. Contributes to quality nursing practice. Evaluates ones own and others nursing practice in relation to professional practice standards and guidelines relevant statutes rules and regulations. Utilizes appropriate resources to plan provide and sustain evidence-based nursing services that are safe effective and fiscally responsible. Practices in an environmentally safe and healthy manner. Practices ethically. Promotes shared governance or facility decision making activities developing and nurturing research to positively affect clinical outcomes and promotion.
Skills:
Physical Requirements Work requires walking standing sitting lifting reaching stooping bending pushing and pulling. Must be able to lift and support the weight of 35 pounds in handling patients medical equipment and supplies. Must speak English in good understandable terms. Intact sense of sight hearing smell and touch. Finger dexterity. Critical thinking and ability to concentrate. Must be able to respond quickly to changes in patient and/or unit conditions. Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. BSN preferred. Current Basic Life Support for Healthcare Provider status according to American Heart Association. Requirements Infusion experience (IV, Antibiotics, Self-injectables, etc.) Current unrestricted RN license in state for which care is being provided
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Must have graduated from a National League of Nursing accredited program Minimum one (1) year of documented experience required. Three (3) to five (5) years of clinical experience with one (1) year experience in a home health agency, primary care clinic or health facility, preferred. College of Nurses Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Nursing. Must have graduated from a nursing accredited program. Minimum five (5) years of clinical experience with at least half of that time working in home health or related health care organization. Minimum three to five years of direct employee supervision. Demonstrated ability to supervise and direct staff. Possess exceptional nursing assessment skills Comply with accepted professional standards of practice. Proven ability to build quality and implement improvements within the operation. Excellent interpersonal skills. Analytic/Critical thinker. Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal tactfully with clients, staff and community. Treat clients, staff and the public with courtesy, respect and presents a positive public image. Contact with clients under a wide variety of circumstances. Care provided in client's living environment with varying situations or in an institution such as a hospital. May be required to respond to emergency situations. Travel required. Position includes tasks that have the potential for exposure to blood and other potentially infectious material (OPIM) such as body fluids/tissues.
Personal Protective Equipment:
May include gloves, mask, eye/face protection, and disposable outer covering or lab coat.
