We are seeking an experienced Standby Letter of Credit (SBLC) Specialist to join a high-performing Trade Finance Operations team. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented banking professional with hands-on expertise in issuing, amending, and administering Standby and Commercial Letters of Credit in a regulated financial environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong technical knowledge of trade finance operations, international documentary credit rules, compliance requirements, and risk controls, with the ability to manage complex transactions accurately in a fast-paced setting. Key Responsibilities Issue, amend, and process Standby Letters of Credit (SBLCs) and Commercial / Documentary Letters of Credit in compliance with banking regulations and international trade finance rules. Review applications, supporting documentation, and transaction details to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal policies. Process LC transactions through SWIFT, email, and trade finance systems , ensuring timely and accurate execution. Interpret and apply international trade rules including UCP600, ISP98, and ICC guidelines to support compliant transaction processing. Monitor evergreen clauses, expiry dates, beneficiary notifications, renewals, and consent tracking. Maintain complete and audit-ready documentation within internal document management systems. Perform operational risk reviews and identify discrepancies, exceptions, or compliance concerns. Support sanctions and compliance screening processes, including awareness of OFAC, AML, and prohibited transaction controls . Collaborate with internal stakeholders, operations teams, compliance, and external counterparties to resolve trade finance transaction issues efficiently. Ensure confidentiality, regulatory adherence, and strong operational controls across all trade finance activities. Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional banking experience. 3+ years of direct Trade Finance Operations experience , specifically within Standby Letters of Credit and Documentary Credits . Strong hands-on experience processing SBLCs, Commercial Letters of Credit, and Documentary Credits . Working knowledge of SWIFT messaging related to trade finance transactions. Strong understanding of
UCP600, ISP98, ICC
trade finance rules, and banking compliance requirements . Experience supporting regulatory compliance, audit readiness, and internal controls. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple high-priority transactions in a deadline-driven environment. CITF or CDCS certification preferred. Ideal Candidate Profile The ideal candidate is a banking trade finance professional with deep operational experience in letters of credit processing, particularly SBLC issuance and administration . This individual is highly detail-oriented, compliance-focused, and comfortable navigating complex international trade transactions. Success in this role requires strong technical trade finance knowledge, risk awareness, and the ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced institutional banking environment.
