Opportunity:

GPAC is proud to be partnered with a leading steel fabrication and erection company known for its work across commercial, industrial, and residential markets. Our client is seeking a highly skilled Steel Detailer with a strong background in both structural steel and miscellaneous metals to join their growing drafting and design team. This is a direct-hire opportunity offering long-term stability, engaging projects, and a collaborative team environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Create detailed fabrication and erection drawings for structural steel and miscellaneous metals (stairs, railings, catwalks, etc.) using industry-standard software. Interpret architectural and structural drawings and translate them into accurate shop and field drawings. Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and fabrication teams to ensure drawing accuracy and clarity. Review and modify drawings based on design changes, RFIs, and markups. Ensure drawings are completed in accordance with project specifications, codes, and standards. Maintain organized project files and collaborate on schedules to meet production deadlines. Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders throughout the detailing process.

Qualifications:

Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Steel Detailer. Proficiency with one or more of the following software tools: Tekla, SDS/2, Advanced Steel, AutoCAD, or equivalent. Strong understanding of both structural steel and miscellaneous metals detailing. Experience working on commercial, industrial, and/or residential projects. Comfortable using the Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word). Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and time management.

Preferred Qualifications:

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Architectural Drafting, Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not required). Ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to shifting priorities.
