Steel Loader, 2nd shift

Position Summary Loaders transport large heavy steel pieces such as columns, trusses and I-beams onto flatbed trailers using overhead cranes within the building. It is crucial that the Loaders understand weight distribution between axels and have the ability to pre-plan how loads of steel pieces will fit onto trailers safely so that they will be securely transported across the country. Employees must be able to occasionally lift material weighing as much as 75lbs. This is a 2nd shift position, which runs 3:30 pm - 3:00 am, Monday - Thursday; Fridays are voluntary. No Saturdays or Sundays. Technical Skills Mechanically inclined Able to operate grinders for around 15 hours/week Experienced in power tools and forklifts (preferred) Able to read a tape measure Quality / Safety Skills Have acute situational awareness Able to be trained on and operate overhead cranes Equipped with personal protection equipment (PPE) Able to lift up to 75 pounds We at Merrill Steel have been working hard to make sure that our company is a place you want to come to work at each day. Pay:

$57,564.00 - $61,471.80 per year
