Job Description
The STEM Career Advisor and Science Hub Associate supports the implementation of grant-funded initiatives and the operations of the Science Hub within the STEM department by providing advising, transfer and career development assistance, and student support services to individuals enrolled in transfer-focused STEM higher education programs. This position works directly with students to promote academic success, career readiness, and timely progression toward educational, transfer and employment goals while supporting the mission, values, and equity-centered practices of the institution. This position helps support the day-to-day organizational and operational needs of the Science Hub. Under general supervision, the STEM Career Advisor and Science Hub Associate assists with needs assessment, student outreach, referrals to internal and external resources, and delivery of academic, transfer and career-related programming aligned with grant objectives. The role collaborates with faculty, staff, and university and community partners to support student engagement, retention, and successful transitions to further education or employment. Activities and outcomes are documented in accordance with grant, institutional, and regulatory requirements. The position supports the science programs through coordinating day-to-day operations in the Science Hub, assisting with maintaining schedules and materials, facilitating student use of science resources and materials, coordinating and proctoring students' assessments and make-up lab assignments. Minimum Qualifications:
Due to Grant funding this position requires the following: Bachelor's degree in a STEM field- AND•Experience with community colleges as a student or employee

Regular remote/hybrid work is not a feature of this position. At the supervisor's discretion, exemptions may be made for special projects or responsibilities requiring periodic needed focus time.TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
This is a 100%, 12-month classified assignment at pay level 13 This position has a 6-month probationary period All positions at Chemeketa are required to be available for work onsite as requested by the college. Requires flexible work schedule to meet program needs, which may include evenings and/or weekends This position may require the use of your personal vehicle for transportation between campus locations If requested, requires the provision of official transcripts upon hire Employees must maintain Oregon, Washington or Idaho residency as a condition of employment. Sedentary Work:
Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. PUBLIC SERVICE LOAN FORGIVENESS
Chemeketa Community College is considered a qualifying public employer for the purposes of the Public Service Loan Forgiveness Program. Through the Public Service Loan Forgiveness program, full-time employees working at the College may qualify for forgiveness of the remaining balance on Direct Loans after 120 qualifying monthly payments under a qualifying repayment plan.
