Job Description

Category Nursing - RN-Stepdown Job Type Contract Step into a vital nursing role providing specialized care for patients in a stepdown unit. This contract opportunity offers the chance to make an immediate impact by collaborating with interprofessional teams while supporting patients in a transitional, high-acuity environment.
Schedule/Hours:
Contract position (duration specified during interview) Flexible scheduling and night or day shift options may be available
Key Responsibilities:
Deliver direct patient care for those transitioning from intensive care to less critical levels of monitoring Monitor vital signs, recognize changes in patient conditions, and respond swiftly to emergencies Administer medications, manage IVs, and perform procedures as required Coordinate with physicians, therapists, and other nursing staff to develop and implement individualized care plans Document assessments, treatments, and progress in accordance with hospital protocols Provide education and emotional support to patients and their families during recovery
Qualifications & Desired Experience:
Valid and current RN license Previous experience working in a stepdown, progressive care, or telemetry unit preferred Strong assessment and critical thinking skills BLS and ACLS certifications (other certifications may be required depending on facility protocols) Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Compassionate bedside manner with outstanding communication skills This position offers a dynamic setting for registered nurses seeking professional growth and the opportunity to deliver exceptional patient care in a collaborative setting.
