Job Description
Responsibilities:
Oversees all waste disposals. Trains staff in the proper procedures to maximize recycling and minimize trash disposal costs. Ensures recycling bins are available and used in all predetermined areas. Ensures all waste is dumped at pre-designated times into proper receptacles. Maintains a log of what and how much is recycled, and reviews weekly with Chief Steward. Reports recycling compliance issues to the Chief Steward. Ensures that trash cans are cleaned on a daily basis. Reports any recycle bins that need to be replaced. Ensures that food waste is put through the pulper properly. Oversees pulper use and reports any necessary issues to maintenance. Maintains cleanliness and organization of recycling areas. Provides exceptional customer service Works safely, following all established safety rules and regulations Communicates effectively with co-workers, supervisors and guests Follows all relevant policies and procedures Performs other duties as assigned.Competencies :
Must possess high school diploma or GED or equivalent work experience Must be able to speak, read and write English. Previous kitchen worker experience preferred. Knowledge of various cleaning equipment used in the cleaning industry preferred. Must be able to report to work on time as scheduled Must possess proficient communication skills. Must be able to work weekends, holidays and nights as needed Must be able to successfully pass a background check Must present an overall professional appearance and report to work in appropriate attire.
