Stocker / Cashier

Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and customer-oriented Cashier/Stocker to join our team in a dynamic retail environment. This role is essential in ensuring a smooth shopping experience for our customers by efficiently handling transactions and maintaining well-stocked shelves. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, a knack for customer service, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced grocery store setting. Duties Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions accurately and efficiently. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering inquiries, and assisting with product selection. Handle cash transactions and maintain accurate cash handling practices. Stock shelves with merchandise, ensuring products are organized and displayed attractively. Conduct product demonstrations to promote new items and encourage sales. Assist in merchandising efforts to enhance product visibility and drive sales. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area and stockroom. Support supervisory tasks as needed, including training new staff members on best practices. Skills Proficient in cashiering and cash handling procedures. Strong retail sales experience with an emphasis on upselling techniques. Basic math skills for accurate transaction processing and inventory management. Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers and team members. Experience in merchandising and stocking within a grocery store environment. Ability to demonstrate products effectively during demos. Bilingual abilities are a plus, enhancing communication with diverse customers. Knowledge of retail math concepts to assist in inventory control and sales reporting. Previous supervising experience is beneficial for those interested in leadership roles.
