Full-time Store Manager Trainee City of Chicago IL Fulltime Compensation:
$31.75 hour x 40 hours a week Plus guaranteed 5 hours of overtime Year 1 earning potential up to $113,500 salary + bonus; varies by location)
Location Requirement:
Looking for City of Chicago Store Manager Trainees Candidates need to live North/East or West of the city Training at multiple locations within a 50 mile radius
Schedule:
Stores open between 8 to 9am and close between 8 to 9pm. Must be open between 5 to 7am if opening and 11pm if closing. Role Summary As a Store Manager Trainee , you'll train on all aspects of running a high performing retail store in preparation for stepping into your own store . This is a hands on leadership role focused on people development, operations, and performance. You'll lead daily store execution, manage staffing and schedules, control payroll and loss, and build strong teams while learning the companies' systems and leadership model. Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise daily store operations Coach, mentor, and develop store teams Hire, interview, and onboard team members Create and manage weekly schedules Conduct store meetings and performance evaluations Ensure product quality, merchandising, and inventory accuracy Manage payroll, cash audits, and shrink/loss controls Maintain a safe, clean, and compliant store environment Monitor local competition and provide feedback to leadership Operate equipment and support store operations as needed
Physical Demands:
Ability to stock merchandise from store receiving to shelving; ability to place product, weighing up to 45 pounds, on shelving at various heights Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, push, pull, lift, carry and walk about the store Must be able to perform duties with or without reasonable accommodations.
Job Qualifications:
You must be 18 years of age or older to be employed for this role Ability to work both independently and within a team environment Ability to provide and lead others to provide prompt and courteous customer service Ability to develop rapport, trust, and open communication that enhances the growth and job performance of direct reports Ability to interpret and apply company policies and procedures Ability to establish goals, guide employee performance to ensure the quality and completion of work assignments Ability to evaluate and drive performance of self and others Ability to understand and apply management principles concerning budgeting, personnel costs, and expenses Ability to operate a cash register efficiently and accurately Ability to safely and properly operate equipment, including electric/manual hand jack, floor scrubber, and cardboard baler and perform general cleaning duties to company standards Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner, following instructions and giving attention to detail Meets any state and local requirements for handling and selling alcoholic beverages
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred A minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in a retail environment A combination of education and experience providing equivalent knowledge Prior management experience preferred
Travel:
Full-Time Store Manager Trainees will often train at multiple locations and must have flexibility to travel within divisional requirements
Pay:
$31.75 per hour
