Chestnut Street NW, Hartselle, AL 35640 $35.04 an hour $35.04 an hour Strategic Initiatives & External Affairs Manager The City of Hartselle is seeking a dynamic and relationship-driven professional to serve as Strategic Initiatives & External Affairs Manager . This position supports economic development efforts by promoting the City, strengthening partnerships, pursuing grant opportunities, and serving as the City's Public Relations and Communications Officer. Key Responsibilities Promote Hartselle to attract business and economic development opportunities Lead City communications, marketing, and social media strategy Write and manage grants aligned with City priorities Build strong relationships with businesses, community partners, and regional organizations Coordinate legislative outreach and monitor state/federal issues impacting the City Support public events such as groundbreakings, ribbon cuttings, and City updates Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Economic Development, Communications, Public Administration, Marketing, Urban Planning, or related field Minimum 3 years of experience in economic development, communications/public affairs, grant writing, or government relations Valid Alabama Driver's License and insurable Preferred Qualifications 5+ years of experience CEcD, APR, or similar certification Experience serving as a Public Information Officer or spokesperson Pre-Employment Requirements Medical exam/drug screening, background check (criminal, driving, credit), and proof of U.S. work authorization.
