Structural Steel Junior Detailer

dtl's inc. Junior Detailer We are looking to hire a Junior Detailer to support our growing team in structural steel detailing. You will be responsible for cleaning up shop drawings in SDS/2 of structural steel members such as columns, beams, braces, stairs, guardrails etc. so that our shop will be able to build the members based on the accurate drawings that you will help produce. This will include adding dimensions, weld callouts, and overall drawing cleanup to produce shop drawings that will be used for fabrication. We are looking for motivated candidates with well-versed computer skills and knowledge of reading and interpreting construction documents. This role requires a very detail-oriented individual that can stay focused on the task of cleaning up shop drawings. Your day-to-day workflow would include looking through the 3D model that is produced in-house and cleaning up the drawings in a 2D format in SDS/2 based on our own shop standards. Also, you will be helping put together packages for our shop that will include files such as CNC files that will assist the shop in fabricating structural steel. Qualifications

• CAD experience and basic knowledge of reading and creating drawings using CAD software.
• Computer skills such as working with Microsoft Office 365.
• Good attitude and work ethic.
• Participating in a team based work environment.

Training There will be in-house training for this position as it is a very specialized field. This is an entry level position as Junior Detailer, but there is plenty of room to grow within our company. So, depending on experience, motivation, and how quickly the tasks are picked up, you can eventually become a 3D modeler, and after some proven time as a modeler, you can grow to a Senior Detailer leading the detailing efforts for specific projects. About us Our company was founded in 1994 and have detailed countless commercial buildings around the country. We specialize in building hospitals, casinos, data centers as well as many other sectors. We are the sister company of a structural steel fabricator amfabsteel that is located in Bernalillo New Mexico. We work hand in hand with structural engineers, architects and general contractors to build and erect commercial buildings. We use the structural steel detailing software SDS/2 to build 3D models based on design from architects and engineers. We then use that model to create 2D shop drawings that will be used to fabricate steel. We also create erection drawings that will be used by field erectors to build the structural skeleton on site.
