The California Department of Technology (CDT) is building the nation's largest open-access middle-mile broadband network, and we're looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Student Assistant to help power it from the inside. The Middle Mile Broadband Initiative (MMBI) is a $3.8 billion statewide infrastructure program delivering high-speed fiber connectivity to rural, tribal, and unserved and underserved communities across all 58 California counties. MMBI has recently connected its first customer and just selected a company to manage the network's daily operations, meaning the program is moving fast. As things ramp up, we need organized, detail-driven support to help keep everything on track. This is your opportunity to gain real, hands-on experience inside one of California's most high-profile state technology programs. You'll support critical administrative and data operations, including records management, tracking stakeholder engagements, and serving as a document librarian, uploading, organizing, and maintaining program files so the right information is always where the team needs it. You'll work alongside experienced program managers and IT professionals in a collaborative, fast-paced environment where your contributions have a real impact.
