School Administrative Unit 32 is seeking a highly qualified Director of Student Services to oversee special education programs in Plainfield and Cornish NH. This is a split position between two districts. The selected candidate will oversee services for students ages 3 through 21 in both districts. As a core member of the administrative team, the Director ensures an inclusive program focused on the academic, social-emotional, behavioral, and physical growth of all students. The Director reports directly to the Superintendent of Schools and provides oversight to a diverse team of special education and related services personnel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities Administrative Leadership:
Develops and oversees the annual special education budget, writes and coordinates the IDEA Grant, oversees independent private contractors and manages the Medicaid process.
Staff Supervision:
Co-supervises and evaluates special education staff in collaboration with building Principals.
Compliance & Reporting:
Maintains student records in compliance with state and federal laws and completes required state reporting for the NHED.
Educational Programming:
Directs the fidelity of the IEP process, serves as the LEA for the district, and coordinates the Extended School Year (ESY) program.
Collaboration:
Acts as the primary liaison between the district and state/federal agencies, as well as out-of-district schools.
Policy & Advocacy:
Advises the Superintendent and School Board on policy development and represents the district in hearings or court proceedings.
