Job Description

SUMMARY:
The Director of SSS will be responsible for supervision related to designing, planning, organizing, managing, budgeting, evaluating, and implementing the operations of the SSS program and report directly to the Vice-President of the Wesson Campus.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Coordinates developments, implements and operates of all SSS activities and services; Coordinates activities involved in the recruitment and student selection process; Serves as a liaison between SSS and the Copiah-Lincoln Community College administration, offices, and faculty; Manages the program budget ensuring reasonability, cost-effectiveness, and adequacy; Establishes and maintains accurate, timely and complete recordkeeping processes; Ensures the accuracy and completeness data used in the completion of program reports; Organizes and conducts orientations for staff, students, and college faculty; Coordinates the advisement, counseling, and tutorial functions of the Program; Develops appropriate community contacts necessary to allow SSS students the utilization of community resources; Become knowledgeable and remain current regarding the scope and purpose of the SSS program at CLCC; Makes recommendations to the Vice-President for the employment of staff and student personnel in the Program; and Assume supervision, training, and evaluation of all program staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Master's Degree in the area of school administration, psychology, guidance/counseling, developmental education, or curriculum and instruction Experience in designing, managing, and implementing programs serving traditionally underrepresented populations in higher education Experience in the evaluation and documentation procedures used by federal projects will be required.
PREFERED JOB REQUIRMENTS
Five (5) years of administrative experience in federal educational projects or counseling and guidance programs designed for disadvantaged, disabled, low-income, and minority students will be preferred;

Work Environment The work environment is an office setting with a moderate noise level. Physical Demands While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
