Job Description

Overview The Bureau, Henry, and Stark Regional Office of Education is seeking a Student Success Mentor to join the team of mentors. The role is in partnership with a local school district within our three-county region and will be determined at the time of hiring. As a Student Success Mentor, you will be a key part in helping students succeed - not just academically, but also social-emotionally and with regular school attendance. You'll build relationships, offer support, and work closely with school staff to make sure students have what they need to stay on track. Job Qualifications
  • Able to work well with students, families, staff, school districts, and the community at-large.
  • Comfortable communicating clearly - both in writing and in person
  • Focused on creating a safe, welcoming place where students can thrive.
  • Passionate about supporting at-risk and underserved youth
  • Confident using Google Workspace tools
  • Great at working independently and as part of a team
  • Detail-oriented and natural problem solver
  • Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in human service field Job Requirements
  • Support a caseload of 25-32 students in grades 4-12 (depending on your school placement)
  • Work closely with students, families, and school staff to create personalized success plans that include academic, social-emotional, and attendance goals
  • Monitor student attendance, behavior, and grades - stepping in quickly when concerns arise.
  • Keep accurate records of student check-ins, progress, and communication
  • Hold regular in-person check-ins with students to offer guidance, encouragement, and accountability.
  • Act as a bridge between school and home, keeping families in the loop and helping them stay engaged in their child's education.
  • Plan and participate in family engagement events.
  • Collaborate with school staff and attend meetings to help problem-solve and support students.
  • Follow all ALOP procedures, including gathering consent forms, setting and tracking SSP goals, and documenting case notes.
  • Share updates and student data with school teams, and represent the program in a positive, professional way.
  • Help students explore future pathways, including career and post-secondary opportunities.
