Jul 20, 2026 Job Description Student Support & MTSS Specialist China Spring Primary School Reports to: Campus Principal Position Summary The Student Support & MTSS Specialist supports the academic, behavioral, social, and emotional success of students by partnering with teachers, intervention teams, and campus administration to implement proactive student support systems and effective intervention practices. This position serves as a member of the campus administrative team and plays a key role in strengthening Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 supports through coaching, collaboration, small group instruction, social skills intervention, and student support services. The ideal candidate is passionate about early childhood education, relationship-driven practices, and helping teachers build positive, engaging, and structured learning environments that support all students. Primary Responsibilities Teacher Coaching & Support Provide job-embedded coaching and support to teachers related to classroom management, student support strategies, behavior intervention practices, student engagement, and regulation supports. Model effective instructional and student support strategies in classrooms. Assist teachers in developing proactive classroom systems, routines, and procedures that support positive student behavior and engagement. Support teachers in implementing restorative and relationship-centered practices. Collaborate with campus administration to support classroom observations, feedback, and follow-up coaching cycles. Student Support & Social Skills Facilitate small group interventions focused on: Social skills Self-regulation Emotional awareness Conflict resolution Coping strategies Executive functioning skills Assist in identifying students needing Tier 2 and Tier 3 interventions and supports. Support the development and implementation of individualized student support and intervention plans. Provide crisis prevention and de-escalation support as needed. MTSS & Intervention Support Serve as an active member of the campus MTSS team. Assist with behavior and intervention data collection, progress monitoring, and documentation. Support teachers in analyzing behavioral trends and intervention effectiveness. Collaborate with counselors, diagnosticians, special education staff, interventionists, and administrators to ensure student supports are aligned and effective. Help coordinate and monitor campus intervention systems and student support services. Campus Leadership & Collaboration Participate as a member of the campus administrative/support leadership team. Help promote a positive, safe, and supportive campus climate. Support campuswide behavior expectations, PBIS initiatives, and student recognition systems. Provide professional learning opportunities for staff related to student support, regulation strategies, trauma-informed practices, and MTSS supports. Maintain strong communication and collaborative relationships with families and staff. Qualifications Required Qualifications Valid Texas Teacher Certification Minimum of five (5) years successful classroom teaching experience Master's degree OR currently enrolled in a master's degree program Demonstrated strong classroom management and relationship-building skills Experience working collaboratively with teachers and support staff Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with MTSS systems and interventions Experience in early childhood or primary education settings Experience supporting student behavior and social-emotional learning Knowledge of intervention strategies and regulation supports Experience facilitating professional development or teacher support Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities Understanding of child development, especially in early childhood and primary grades Ability to build trusting relationships with students, staff, and families Ability to support and guide adults in a collaborative, growth-focused manner Knowledge of behavior management frameworks, SEL practices, and intervention systems Ability to analyze behavioral and intervention data to support decision-making Strong collaboration and leadership skills Working Conditions Frequent walking, standing, and movement throughout the campus Ability to respond to student behavioral needs and crisis situations when necessary Regular interaction with students, staff, parents, and district personnel Campus Vision for the Role This position is designed to proactively support students and teachers by strengthening campus support systems, building teacher capacity, and ensuring all students develop the social, emotional, and self-regulation skills needed for success in the classroom and beyond.Position Type:
