Credential Based Rates :
Compensation increases based on verified professional credentials: MHP (Bachelor's degree), QMHP (Master's degree; no independent license), LPHA (LCSW or LCPC). Final compensation is determined by credential level and relevant experience. Bridgeway is seeking a dedicated and recovery oriented Substance Use Counselor to join its Behavioral Health Services Division. This full time position provides substance use assessment, counseling, and treatment services to individuals navigating substance use disorder and co occurring conditions within our CCBHC continuum. Bridgeway is a comprehensive human services organization and a federally designated Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic (CCBHC) serving individuals and families across Knox, Warren, Henderson, and Henry Counties in west central Illinois. As a CCBHC, Bridgeway operates at the leading edge of integrated behavioral health — delivering person centered, recovery oriented care across a full continuum that includes outpatient therapy, crisis services, substance use treatment, psychiatric services, and community support. The Substance Use Counselor applies ASAM Criteria, evidence based treatment modalities, and harm reduction principles to serve individuals at varying stages of readiness for change. This role operates within an interdisciplinary team environment that values clinical rigor, peer collaboration, and a genuine commitment to the communities we serve. What You'll Do Provide individual and group SUD counseling, case management, and early intervention services using evidence based, recovery oriented approaches. Conduct substance use assessments applying ASAM Criteria to guide level of care placement and individualized treatment planning. Provide DUI Evaluations and Risk Education classes to clients in need (if credentialed and trained). Facilitate urinalysis and breath testing as clinically indicated and per agency protocol. Produce written and verbal reports to referral sources in compliance with 42 CFR Part 2 confidentiality requirements. Coordinate care linkages with mental health services, medical providers, and community recovery supports. Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the EHR consistent with CCBHC, CARF, and IDHS standards. Provide follow up outreach to consumers who disengage from services. Meet productivity expectations while maintaining the highest standards of clinical quality and consumer dignity. What You Bring Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or a related human services field; OR one to two years of directly related SUD treatment experience. CADC certification or active pursuit of CADC credentialing strongly preferred; required within twelve months of hire. Knowledge of ASAM Criteria, motivational interviewing, and evidence based SUD treatment approaches. Experience in a community mental health, SUD, or CCBHC setting preferred. A nonjudgmental, harm reduction oriented approach and genuine commitment to the individuals we serve. Valid Illinois driver's license, reliable personal transportation, and a good driving record.
