Department Enrollment/Registration & Records Location Milford Job Category Support Staff Job Type PT Posting Number 02143 Position End Date Position Summary Information General Description of Position Under the general direction and supervision of the Admissions Outreach Specialist and Admissions Technician, the Summer Admissions Ambassador serves as a key representative of the college, providing engaging and informative campus tours to prospective students and visitors. This role plays a vital part in creating a welcoming first impression while also supporting administrative operations within the office. This is a part-time, temporary position. Essential Functions Host prospective students, families, and guests by delivering campus tours tailored to their interests. Provide a high level of customer service, ensuring a positive visit experience. Assist with office operations, including data entry and processing mailings. Assist with college-wide events, such as New Student Welcome. Maintain the confidentiality of student, staff, and institutional information in compliance with FERPA and College policies. Handle sensitive information with discretion, ensuring privacy and confidentiality at all times. Safeguard records, files, and communications that contain confidential or proprietary information. Promote a Culture of Belonging Support and promote an environment of belonging where all students, faculty members, and college employees feel welcomed, valued, and empowered to contribute. Foster a community where each individual and their varied perspectives enrich the educational experience and create a safe and respectful environment. Support the College's policies and programming related to access, fair employment, and equal opportunities for all. Marginal Functions Assist the Admissions Office and Testing Center Staff
  • Milford Campus.
Assist with new student enrollment, new student welcome, and other new student onboarding programming. Assist with public relations activities such as campus tours on behalf of the College. Coordinate referrals for the delivery of College support services. Provide admissions information to faculty, staff, and others as requested. Travel to all campus locations as directed. Perform other related duties within the division/program as assigned. May be required to perform associated duties, functions, or assignments in other divisions/programs/areas as required. Perform other College functions and duties as assigned. Must be able to work varied days, hours, shifts, locations, and campuses as required. Work schedules (hours/days/work location) are scheduled by Southeast Community College based on the needs of the College. Work hours, shifts, days, and work locations may vary depending on the needs of Southeast Community College and are subject to modification. Emergency or scheduled special activities may require hours outside of the regular workweek. Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Ability to effectively manage multiple tasks and meet critical deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy. Ability to extend friendly and helpful assistance to the public in the face of interruptions and fluctuating service demands. Ability to work and communicate effectively with a diverse group of students, staff, and the public. Ability to work as a productive member of the Student Affairs division, follow supervisory directives, established policies and procedures of the College. Ability to utilize good problem-solving strategies. Ability to effectively represent and present information about the College. Ability to follow directions and work independently with minimal supervision. Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with College policies and FERPA regulations. Reliable and punctual attendance Ability to communicate effectively in writing, in person, and on the phone. Ability to use basic computer skills. Ability to lift and carry up to fifty (50) pounds for short distances and move tables, chairs, and media equipment when necessary The individual must possess the above skills and abilities or be able to explain and demonstrate that the individual can perform the essential functions of the job, with or without reasonable accommodation, using some other combination of skills and abilities. Minimum Qualifications Must be at least 16 years of age Must be a current student, dual credit student, or have taken courses at SCC in the past twelve (12) months Desired Qualifications Experience with basic computer skills (e.g., Microsoft Office, email, internet navigation) Salary $15.00/hour Benefits Part-time temporary employees are eligible to participate in the TIAA retirement plan through a Roth, SRA, or 457(B) account, with no match provided by the College. Schedule Normal hours of work for this part-time temporary position are generally scheduled by the College, Monday through Friday, based on a 29-hour workweek and a 260-day work calendar. Scheduled special activities, emergencies, or temporary schedule changes may require hours outside of the regular workday or workweek.
