Temporary SUMMARY:
The PATH Summer Associate is responsible for providing individualized, person-centered care to ensure our clients experience a safe, engaging, and fulfilling day. The associate will facilitate age and interest-appropriate programs that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. This position may also be trained in other departments as needed due to client census. This position actively works toward enhancing the organization's mission, vision, values, and goals by assisting the Director and Leads, ensuring a value-based, employee-oriented, collaborative, high-performance team culture that is focused on innovative client solutions.
Essential Functions, Duties, and Responsibilities:
Works with PATH Lead to ensure clients participate in daily/weekly/monthly schedule of programs, outings, events, and activities based on needs, abilities, and interests of clients; develops, implements, and evaluates programming that impacts client lifestyle, promotes positive behaviors, stimulation, and meaningful socialization on a 1:1 basis or in groups. Assist PATH Lead with researching and planning of monthly activity schedules; utilizing creative thinking to benefit the clients served. Maintains all safety protocols and ensures the client area is clean and sanitized per policy and procedure. Hand out snacks and monitor snack time, monitor clients while playing, following rules, proper playing, and cleaning up the play area when playtime is completed. General cleaning of building, sweep, vacuum, laundry, wipe down countertops and tables, etc., and monitor the clients as they learn to do these chores. Works closely with the SRDC Case Manager and PATH Lead to report on the status of clients based on their care plans. Works with volunteers when scheduled for activities and events. Participate in continual professional development. Other duties as assigned. Skills, Knowledge, Qualifications, Experience Outgoing and friendly to all. Ability to maintain confidential information, display good judgment, and respond to emergencies or in difficult situations. Deal effectively with people at all levels of responsibility, including visitors, clients, staff, and volunteers. Ability to attend to multiple tasks throughout the workday, coordinating numerous priorities and schedules accurately. Minimum seventeen (17) years of age. Safety Conscious, Dependable, Good decision-making skills. Ability to respond effectively during medical emergencies. Ability to organize, prioritize, and manage tasks without direct supervision. Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to effectively communicate with clients, co-workers, volunteers, and management. Deal effectively with people at all levels of responsibility, including participants, staff, volunteers, etc. Patient, self-confident, and sensitive to individual needs. Able to adapt easily to frequent change. Excellent customer service and listening skills. Team Player
