Summer Basketball Skill Development Trainer and/or Basketball Coach for practices & games

Job Overview We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Summer Basketball Skill Development Trainers and/or Coaches to join our dynamic sports program. Duties Lead engaging basketball practices focused on skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship for youth participants of various ages and skill levels Coach teams during games, providing strategic guidance and motivating players to perform their best Design age-appropriate drills that improve fundamental skills such as dribbling, shooting, passing, and defense Foster a positive environment that encourages good behavior, teamwork, and respect among players Monitor safety protocols during all activities to ensure a secure experience for everyone involved Collaborate with program coordinators to plan schedules, coordinate equipment needs, and communicate with parents or guardians as necessary Support the overall organization of summer sports activities including warm-ups, cool-downs, and injury prevention measures Skills Proven experience in sports coaching or physical education instruction with a focus on basketball or similar team sports Strong background in teaching physical skills such as dribbling, shooting, passing, and defensive techniques Experience working with children or youth in a childcare or educational setting Knowledge of behavior management strategies to promote discipline and positive conduct on and off the court Ability to motivate young athletes while maintaining a lively and energetic coaching style Familiarity with other sports such as cheerleading, climbing activities, martial arts (e.g., Karate, Judo), swimming or gymnastics is a plus for versatile activity planning Lifeguard experience or certifications are advantageous for ensuring safety during water-related activities within the program Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, and team members Ability to adapt coaching methods to different age groups and skill levels while fostering an inclusive environment Join us this summer to make a lasting impact on young athletes' lives through energetic coaching and skill-building!
