Job Description
Overview Overview Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) is hiring two teachers for its inquiry-based, hands-on summer drone program in O'Fallon. The program will serve twenty middle school students June 8-12.
Hours/Schedule:
This position requires: 2 hours of training (virtually) TBD 8 hours of curriculum review 22.5 hours of teaching, classroom set up and take down during June 8-12: 12noon - 4:30 pm (Program runs M-F, 1 - 4pm) Teachers will be paid an hourly rate of $35/hourPOSITION SUMMARY
This position delivers hands-on instruction to Summer@IMSA program participants in O'Fallon. All program materials are provided. Each teacher is supported by one or more volunteer assistants. Responsibilities Responsibilities To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to carry out each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Attend training and learn curricular content and activities as presented by IMSA Hub Manager. Assist in the organization and implementation of said program. Teach and supervise students as part of the Summer@IMSA program from 1 to 4pm. Engage with other teachers in the organization of the program. Communicate with other staff members about programmatic needs. Supervise and collaborate with teacher assistants, when applicable. Organize provided supplies for program. Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Minimum of a bachelor's degree in education (mathematics and/or science preferred.) Strong content background in mathematics and/or science Teaching experience in grade levels indicated Energetic and fun-loving approach to STEM Strong interpersonal and communication skillsSimilar remote jobs
