Summer Camp Instructor

Duties Plan and implement diverse activities that promote social, emotional, physical, and cognitive development in children of various ages. Supervise campers during all camp activities, ensuring safety and adherence to program guidelines. Manage classroom or activity spaces effectively through strong classroom management and behavior management techniques. Provide first aid and respond appropriately to minor injuries or emergencies, maintaining safety at all times. Support children with special educational needs by adapting activities and providing individualized assistance. Foster a positive environment that encourages teamwork, respect, and inclusion among campers. Communicate regularly with parents, guardians, and fellow staff to ensure a cohesive camp experience. Skills Proven ability in classroom management and behavior management strategies to maintain an engaging learning environment. Experience working with children in settings such as daycare, tutoring, or childcare environments. Knowledge of early childhood education principles and childhood development milestones. First aid certification or willingness to obtain prior to start date; CPR training is a plus. Strong teaching skills with the ability to lead activities in areas such as sports coaching, theater, or arts & crafts. Compassionate approach to working with children, including those with special needs or behavioral challenges. Effective communication skills for working with children, parents, and team members in a collaborative setting.
