Wilshire Boulevard Temple Camps is a Jewish sleep away camp with nearly 75 years of providing dynamic and exciting activities for campers and staff. Located in the vibrant Carlsbad Village area, our camp offers a dynamic experience for children and young adults, combining outdoor fun for kids with the convenience of nearby shops and restaurants for staff. Located right on the beach you'll be able to work with kids, make a difference and have gorgeous views and beach access during time off.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a compassionate and organized Camp Nurse to join our dynamic team for the Summer camp season. The Camp Nurse will play a critical role in ensuring the health and well-being of our campers and staff. This is an excellent opportunity to work in a vibrant environment while providing essential healthcare services to children and young adults.

Key Responsibilities:

Administer medications and maintain accurate medication records. Provide first aid and emergency care for campers and staff as needed. Assess and treat minor injuries and illnesses in accordance with camp protocols. Maintain detailed and confidential health records for all campers and staff. Coordinate and communicate with parents regarding camper health concerns. Monitor and maintain the camp infirmary, including the inventory of medical supplies. Educate camp staff on basic first aid and health protocols. Collaborate with camp leadership to ensure a safe and healthy camp environment.

Required Qualifications:

Current and valid nursing license in the state of California (RN, NP, or LPN). Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Experience in medication administration and first aid. Technical skills, including the ability to use Zoom and telehealth platforms for remote consultations and communications. Strong organizational skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work with children and young adults in a camp setting. Partnering and communicating with camp counselors in caring for their campers. Knowledge of health and safety regulations pertaining to camp environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience as a camp nurse or in a pediatric healthcare setting. Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, camp environment.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and stand or move around for extended periods. Comfort working with children in various settings creating a safe camp environment.
