Job Description

Position Summary The Salvation Army Noble Corps is committed to "Doing the Most Good" by providing holistic, person-centered services to individuals and families. In addition to worship services and pastoral care, services include support with food, clothing, utilities, rent, securing housing, and both short- and long-term case management, as well as connections to community partners. The Summer Day Camp Program Aide plays a hands-on, supportive role in a fun, faith-based camp environment. Program Aides assist with activities, provide supervision support, and help ensure safety while engaging positively with campers. This role contributes to campers' social, emotional, and spiritual growth by encouraging participation, teamwork, and creativity under the direction of camp staff.
Wage:
$16.37 per hour, up to 40 hours per week 10011 Noble Parkway, Brooklyn Park, MN 55443 Essential Functions (approximate time spent) Program Support and Organization (60%): Assist with daily setup and cleanup of camp activities, including organizing supplies, setting up stations, preparing materials, and maintaining clean, organized spaces. Activity Leadership and Support (20%): Assist staff in leading activities, lessons, and crafts. Help guide campers, encourage participation, and contribute to a positive, engaging environment. Build leadership and teamwork skills under direct supervision. Activity Support and Participation (15%): Provide hands-on assistance during games, group activities, and crafts. Engage positively with campers, encourage participation, and step in to help as needed. Program Supplies (5%): Monitor and maintain program materials, reporting supply needs or issues to supervisory staff in a timely manner. Education and Experience Must be at least 15 years old. Currently enrolled in high school or equivalent education program. Prior experience in youth programs, church activities, or camp environments - either as a participant or in a staff/volunteer role - is preferred. Competencies Demonstrates the ability to connect with children and youth from diverse backgrounds in a positive, age-appropriate, and supportive manner. Communicates clearly and respectfully with campers and fellow staff. Works effectively as part of a team, showing cooperation, initiative, and a willingness to take direction. Dependable and punctual; consistently fulfills responsibilities and adheres to schedules and safety procedures. Flexible and adaptable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with changing needs and priorities. Demonstrates integrity, honesty, and alignment with The Salvation Army mission in all interactions and work activities. Working Conditions Active and physical environment, primarily indoors with occasional outdoor activities. Requires standing, walking, bending, and participating in games or physical activities for extended periods. May involve lifting or carrying supplies (up to 25 lbs.). Noise level can be moderate to high depending on activity. Requires availability during program hours, which may include early mornings or late afternoons. On-site role; not eligible for a remote-friendly work environment. Supervisory Responsibilities None Travel/Driving Requirements Frequent travel by agency vehicle throughout the metro area to support the mission. No driving required.
