Anticipated Summer School ELA Teacher:
Summer School positions are dependent on Student enrollment.
General Statement:
Provide support to the educational process with specific focus on instructional and mentoring practices. This includes maintaining a positive learning environment, where all students are encouraged to participate, ask questions and generally receive the individual attention they deserve to effectively learn the material in a lesson plan.
Responsibilities:
Teaches content and skills in English language, literature, composition, reading, and journalism students, utilizing a standards based course of study developed by the English Department. Facilitates programs and monitors implementation of curriculum that meets the needs of all students. Follow the standardized follow-up plan to ensure implementation and best practice in the classroom. Works closely with District, Elementary, High School and Middle School Administrators. Receives, distributes and maintains inventory for all books, supplies and equipment in the classroom. Performs other related tasks as assigned.
Qualifications:
Experience:
Knowledge of web-based alternative learning programs is preferred. At least 3 years of relevant experience is preferred.
Education:
Bachelor's degree
Certification & Licensing:
Must meet the current RI Department of Education requirements and or certifications. Authorized to work in the USA Current national background check without disqualifying results at time of hire.
