Job Description
Job Overview Join our dynamic Summer Transition Program as an Assist Teacher and play a vital role in supporting children's growth and development during their summer learning experience. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with experienced educators to create engaging, inclusive, and educational environments for young learners. You will assist in implementing curriculum activities, managing classroom routines, and fostering a positive atmosphere that encourages curiosity and confidence. Responsibilities Support lead teachers in planning and delivering lesson plans focused on literacy, math, and social-emotional skills tailored for early childhood learners Assist in creating an inclusive classroom environment that accommodates children with disabilities, including those with autism or behavioral challenges Engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote development in areas such as language, literacy education, and numeracy Help manage classroom routines, transitions, and behavior management strategies to ensure a safe and supportive learning space Provide one-on-one or small group support to children who need additional assistance with childcare or toddler care needs Contribute to curriculum development efforts by implementing Montessori or other specialized teaching methods suitable for preschool or daycare settings Communicate effectively with children, parents, and team members to foster a collaborative educational environment Qualifications Prior experience working with young children in classroom settings such as daycare, preschool, private school programs, or summer camps Knowledge of early childhood development principles and childhood education best practices Familiarity with special education strategies and working with individuals with disabilities or autism is highly desirable Strong classroom management skills and the ability to implement behavior management techniques effectively Excellent communication skills to collaborate with team members and engage children positively Experience with lesson planning, curriculum development, and literacy or math instruction preferred Passion for working with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities in a supportive learning environment This paid summer role offers a fantastic chance to develop your teaching skills while making a lasting difference in children's lives.
