Job Description

Job Summary Join our vibrant team as a Summer Youth Program Coordinator, where you will lead engaging summer programs designed to inspire and empower young minds. In this dynamic role, you will plan, organize, and oversee a variety of educational, recreational, and developmental activities for children and adolescents. Your enthusiasm and leadership will foster a safe, inclusive, and fun environment that promotes growth, learning, and positive social interactions. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on youth during their summer break while developing your skills in education, childcare, and program management. Duties Develop and implement diverse summer program activities that cater to different age groups and interests, including sports, arts, theater, and educational workshops or follow those already on the schedule Supervise daily operations of the youth program, ensuring all activities run smoothly and safely Manage group behavior and facilitate positive behavior management strategies to maintain an engaging environment Coordinate with instructors, volunteers, and external partners to deliver high-quality programming aligned with developmental goals Ensure safety protocols are followed by conducting regular safety checks and maintaining first aid readiness at all times Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding program updates and participant progress Skills Strong classroom management skills to maintain discipline while fostering a positive learning environment Knowledge of first aid procedures to respond promptly to minor injuries or emergencies or willingness to get CPR Certification Experience working with children across various settings such as daycare, camp, tutoring, or babysitting roles Familiarity with early childhood education principles and childhood development milestones Ability to plan engaging activities in areas like theater, sports coaching, or arts & crafts that promote creativity and teamwork Excellent communication skills for working effectively with children, parents, staff, and community partners Background in behavior management techniques to support children's social-emotional growth or ability and willingness to learn This role is perfect for energetic individuals passionate about youth development who want to gain valuable experience in education, childcare, or community programming. Pay:
$11.00 - $14.00 per hour
