Full-time Job Description:
Performs administrative and managerial duties involving planning, organizing, and supervising the operations of the parking facility and vehicular traffic area of the Port Authority. Employees in this classification must be able to assert reasonable initiative, independent judgment, and provide direction to staff and Leads in a fast-paced environment, under general supervision.
Essential Functions:
Supervises the work of personnel engaged in parking facility operations by scheduling, assigning, and reviewing work, providing training, and counseling, and evaluating performance. Reviews and verifies reports of toll booth attendants. Assures proper operation and performs minor maintenance on the ticket dispensers, validating machine and automatic gates. Investigates and resolves parking-related complaints. Conducts inspections of parking facilities to ensure that security, safety, cleanliness, and operational parameters are met. Reviews special event requirements to determine additional staffing requirements. Performs toll booth attendant duties. Research parking issues, prepares reports of findings, and makes recommendations. Serves as point of contact for operational issues related to parking services. Coordinates general maintenance repair and upgrades for all parking system properties including all lighting, landscaping, signs, and equipment enhancements/upgrades. Formulates, for department director approval, policies, programs, and capital projects to meet current and future parking needs. Implements long and short-range programs to meet municipal parking demands. May be necessary to respond to emergency calls for service after normal working hours. Performs other related duties as required. Performs related duties as directed when such duties are a logical and appropriate assignment to the position. During emergency conditions, all CPA employees are automatically considered essential employees and may be subject to recall. These events may include, but are not limited to, natural, man-made, or public health emergencies. Employees may be expected to perform emergency and/or recovery operations outside of their normal assigned responsibilities and routine working hours.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School diploma or GED supplemented by three (3) years' experience in a parking facility operation. Must have a minimum of three (3) years of progressively supervisory or lead role experience or lead role experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience, preferable in a parking facility operation. Must have ability to interpret and lead team according to a Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) Proven ability to effectively schedule staff and provide direction to staff and Leads, as needed Possess strong verbal and written communication skills Must be able to work variable hours, including weekends and holidays Must be able to assess and respond to issues in a fast-paced environment out in the field, including safety issues Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Word, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint) Licenses /
Certifications:
Valid Florida Driver's License or the ability to obtain one within 30 days Able to secure a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC)
Physical Requirement:
Tasks involve the ability to exert very moderate physical effort in light work, typically involving some combination of sitting, standing, use of fingers, and repetitive motions, and which may involve some lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of moderate weight (12-20 pounds).
Environmental Requirements:
Tasks are performed in outdoor environments and scheduled around the cruise ship schedule. Due to the nature and location of the work environment, tasks include potential for intermittent exposure to disagreeable elements, e.g., heat, humidity, inclement weather. Some tasks include working in and around moving vehicles and associated vehicle/equipment areas, where heightened awareness of surroundings and observance of established safety precautions is essential in avoidance of injury or accidents.
