Job Description

UPMC is excited to be hiring for a Supervisor, Police & Security opening at UPMC Altoona Hospital. This position will be scheduled for night shift but will be required to cover other shifts as needed. Why Choose UPMC? Purpose:
Works with and oversees other members of the Police and Security Team to ensure a safe and secure environment for patients, families, visitors, and employees at the hospital facility. In addition to performing as a member of the Police and Security Team, this position also handles administrative tasks, supervises other police and security members, and works harmoniously with hospital management to meet safety goals. Assists with budget preparation and monitoring. Handles and resolves day to day operational issues based on department requirements.
Responsibilities:
Assists in and provides input to staffing decisions (e.g., hiring, firing, promotion). Handles and resolves day to day operational issues and problems. Assists with department budget preparation and monitoring. Responsible for evaluating, disciplining and scheduling staff as appropriate. Provides reporting as needed. Maintains a working relationship with local agencies. Reviews reports of subordinates for accuracy, content, and grammar as needed. Trains staff, ensures that staff obtain and maintain certifications as required and tracks certification progress. Maintains all security systems and department issued equipment. Functionally referred to as Lieutenant.
