BASIC REQUIREMENT OR INDIVIDUAL OCCUPATIONAL REQUIREMENT
A.
Degree:
Engineering. To be acceptable, the program must:(1) lead to a bachelor's degree in a school of engineering with least one program accredited by ABET; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) stics, dynamics; (b) strength of merials (stress-strain relionships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nure and properties of merials (reling particle and aggrege structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, he transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR B. Combinion of educion and experience
  • college-level educion, training, and/or technical experience th furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mhemical sciences underlying engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applicions to one of the branches of engineering.
The adequacy of such background must be demonstred by one of the following: (Click here for detailed explanion of each of these items) 1. Professional registrion or licensure
  • Current registrion as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT)1 , or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any Ste, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico.
Absent other means of qualifying under this standard, those applicants who achieved such registrion by means other than written test (e.g., Ste grandfher or eminence provisions) are eligible only for positions th are within or closely reled to the specialty field of their registrion. For example, an applicant who tains registrion through a Ste Board's eminence provision as a manufacturing engineer typically would be red eligible only for manufacturing engineering positions. 2. Written Test
  • Evidence of having successfully passed the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE)2 examinion or any other written test required for professional registrion by an engineering licensure board in the various Stes, the District of Columbia, Guam, and Puerto Rico. 3. Specified academic courses
  • Successful completion of least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mhemical, and engineering sciences and th included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A. The courses must be fully acceptable toward meeting the requirements of an engineering program as described in paragraph A. 4. Reled curriculum
  • Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an approprie scientific field, e.
g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mhemics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had least 1 year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions. (The above examples of reled curricula are not all inclusive.) In addition to meeting the basic requirement above, to qualify for this position you must also meet the qualificion requirements listed below:
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
: Applicants must have least 1 year (52 weeks) of specialized experience the next lower broadband NH-02, equivalent to the next lower grade GS-11 or equivalent in other pay systems. Specialized experience includes expert in engineering work involved in the applicion of advanced theories, concepts, and principles reled to development or sustainment of systems including rotary wing flight test experience; ability to develop short and long-term goals, applicable metrics, and action plans; recommending a course of action for highly controversial and precedent setting technical mters; complex and comprehensive analysis and utilizes systemic, disciplined, and quantifiable approaches to develop and implement new applicions or technologies to resolve unique issues which could impact success.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
(KSAs): Your qualificions evalued on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas: Knowledge of a wide range of advanced multidisciplinary professional engineering concepts, principles, practices, standards, methods, and techniques to apply experimental theories and new developments to problems not susceptible to trement by accepted methods, and to plan and execute specialized programs of marked difficulty, responsibility, and significance. Knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizional structure, and operion of the DoD, Air Force, and organizions th govern, interface with, and/or influence systems acquisition, development, and/or sustainment, and knowledge of planning, programming, and budgeting cycles, financial systems, and restrictions on expenditure of funds. Knowledge of and skill in evaluing ste-of-the-art and advancements in theory, applicion, technology, and policy affecting systems being developed, and in planning, organizing, and directing the functions and staff in critical aspects of development, production, and/or support of systems, subsystems, or equipment. Knowledge of safety, security, personnel management, and EEO regulions, practices, and procedures. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective relionships, building consensus and coalitions, negotiing, and resolving conflicts with a variety of individuals and organizions as well as communicing effectively, both orally and in writing. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions of an organizion, and mentor, motive, and appraise the staff through subordine supervisors as well as analyze, plan, and adjust work operions of one or more organizional segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
IDEAL CANDIDATE
Serves as the first level supervisor, providing planning, directing, organizing, and exercising control over nonsupervisory employees assigned to the organizion AND will also have FOUR or more years of rotary wing flight test experience.
