(1) Responsible to the AASF Commander for maintaining the Army aircraft assigned to the AASF in a high ste of operional readiness for use in performing the AASF's operional and training missions. Receives from the AASF Commander the mission requirements for operional aircraft. Studies operional requirements and determines aircraft maintenance, repair parts and service required to accomplish AASF mission. Advises and makes approprie recommendions to AASF Commander on capabilities and requirements of logistical support elements to meet current and projected workloads. Advises, briefs and represents the Commander on stus of maintenance and a variety of maintenance reled issues and operion of aircraft. (2) Plans and assigns work to be accomplished by subordines which are primary Wage Grade employees. Sets priorities and prepares schedules for completion of work. Makes assignments based on priorities, difficulty and the requirements of the assignment, and the capabilities of individual employees. Conducts employment interviews. Recommends employees for appointment, promotion or reassignment. Establishes performance standards. Monitors and evalues employee performance. Assists employees in reaching performance goals. Informs subordines of agency policies and programs. Hears complaints and grievances from employees. Resolves those which can be informally resolved, and/or makes recommendions for resolution to approprie deciding official. Identifies developmental and training needs of employees and provides or obtains training. Approves and/or disapproves leave requests. Promotes acceptance and adherence of programs such as Equal Employment Opportunity, Federal Woman's Program, Physically Handicapped, labor-management relions, and other similar special emphasis programs. Maintains an effective position management program. Assures position descriptions are accure and positions are opering as intended. (3) Performs maintenance operional checks (MOC) and limited and general test flights of aircraft to ensure airworthiness upon completion of extensive disassembly for maintenance, repair, replacement or modificion of components or aircraft systems. Performs general or limited test flights including test flights of aircraft when ground diagnostic tests cannot determine the safe and/or proper functioning of aircraft components or systems. Assignments may include instruction to and evaluion of maintenance test pilots. (4) Reviews, analyzes and evalues meriel stus reports and the Army Maintenance Management System (TAMMS) forms and records as well as other available da to insure th maintenance accomplished AASF is performed in accordance with established standards. Establishes local maintenance policies and procedures within guidelines from AASF Commander and higher headquarters. Reviews and evalues the efficiency and effectiveness of AASF logistical support operions by comparison with established standards. Adjudices disputes between subordines on interpretion of technical informion, specificions and maintenance procedures. Directs preparion of approprie correspondence, reports, forms and records on aircraft maintenance. (5) Conducts fact finding studies of maintenance costs on supported aircraft. Assists in the evaluion of performance and cost da. Provides informion for preparion of the requirements and determines aircraft maintenance, repair parts and service required to accomplish AASF mission opering budget. Maintains close liaison with superior and leral aircraft logistical support agencies to keep informed and to ensure th the maintenance effort conforms to current Army practices and applicable directives. May represent the AASF Commander in transactions with all levels of organizion and authority on mters within assigned areas of responsibility and expertise. (6) Performs other duties as assigned. MOS SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
: Applicants must demonstre the following specialized experience competencies (skills, knowledge, and abilities) to qualify for entry appointments to

Army Nional Guard Dual Stus Warrant Officer positions. Qualificion competencies are determined by three factors: The aircraft opered; the nure and purpose of assignments; and, the degree of hazard. For Army Nional Guard positions, must have working experiences in civilian aviion programs; or, in military service aviion programs (active duty or reserve components); or, in the Army Nional Guard Aviion Support facilities; or, in Air Nional Guard Wing/ Operions Groups. To qualify, the applicant must have least two years specialized competencies in opering a specific main-frame military aircraft, mission planning, and mission preparion. Experienced in reviewing and analyzing mission tasking, intelligence, and weher informion. Experienced in filing flight plans and conducting crew briefings. Experienced in aircraft preflight inspections, aircraft loading, and equipment assessments. Experienced in performing or supervising work procedures involved in navigion, in-flight refueling, search and rescue operions or surveillance and reconnaissance. Competent in conducting or supervising the training of crew members in simple to complex mission specific tasks. Experienced in developing plans and policies, monitoring operions, and advising commanders. Knowledge is required in flight theory, air navigion, meteorology, flying directives, mission tactics, and opering procedures. Experienced in the unit flying, explosive, and ground safety programs in accordance with Department of Defense, Department of the Army, Nional Guard Bureau, and/or Occupional Safety and Health Administrion policies, regulions, and directives.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE
: Is experience th prepares the applicant to perform the Dual Stus technician duties and responsibilities. To qualify, an applicant's educional-degree study program, military professional and technical training schools or academies, and aviion certificions may apply as substitutions for some specialized experience factors.
MANDATORY QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Eligibility requirements for Dual Stus technician positions in this occupion are based on the candide's possession of Federal Aviion Administrion pilot certifices -OR- approprie military certificions, military rings in the main-frame military aircraft of employment, and the required competencies (knowledge, skills, and abilities). •
QUALITY OF EXPERIENCE
Length of time is not of itself qualifying. Candides' experience should be evalued based on duties performed rher than strictly on the rank of the individual; however, established compibility criteria/assignments must be followed.
