Job Title:
Supplies Operator Job Description The Supplies Operator supports product assurance by operating prototype and competitive printers in a controlled lab environment. This role focuses on paper feed testing, print and copy quality evaluation, and reliability testing while accurately documenting results and providing feedback on product performance. Responsibilities + Operate prototype development printers and related equipment for test purposes, including loading paper, removing printed output, and clearing routine issues. + Perform paper feed tests to evaluate paperfeed reliability under various conditions. + Conduct print and copy quality tests, carefully reviewing printed output for defects and inconsistencies. + Support printer robustness testing by running extended and repetitive print jobs. + Assist with testing of competitive printer products to compare performance and reliability. + Participate in sub-system testing, including components such as inserter machines and other printer subsystems as directed. + Perform printhead and cartridge yield testing to determine output volume and consistency. + Conduct printhead and cartridge reliability testing to assess performance over time. + Document test activities and results accurately, entering data into a PC and maintaining clear records. + Provide clear, timely input to test engineers on product performance, issues observed, and potential improvements. + Lift and move large paper boxes and supplies as needed to support ongoing tests. + Carry out repetitive motions related to feeding paper, operating equipment, and handling printed materials while maintaining attention to detail. + Maintain good attendance and reliability to support ongoing test schedules and long-shift operations. + Follow established procedures and training to ensure safe, consistent, and high-quality test execution. Essential Skills + Ability to lift and move heavy items, including large paper boxes up to approximately 50 pounds. + Strong attention to detail when feeding paper, operating printers, and reviewing printed output for defects. + Fundamental computer knowledge, including basic PC use and using a mouse for data entry. + Ability to perform repetitive motions safely and consistently during long shifts. + Demonstrated reliability and good attendance in previous roles. + Work history that includes standing on your feet for long periods during the day. + General mechanical or technical aptitude suitable for operating printers, inserter machines, and test equipment. + Ability to follow documented procedures and training accurately. + History of longevity in employment, showing commitment and stability. Additional Skills & Qualifications + Experience in reliability testing, product testing, or quality assurance environments. + Background in general labor, production, or technician roles involving equipment operation. + Familiarity with documenting test results and communicating observations to engineers or supervisors. + Comfort working with inserter machines and other mechanical subsystems is a plus. Work Environment This role is based in a controlled, clean lab environment focused on printer and product testing. The position follows a 2nd shift schedule, Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., which involves long periods of standing and repetitive tasks. You will work with prototype and competitive printers, inserter machines, and standard PC workstations for data entry and documentation. Job Type & Location This is a Contract position based out of Lexington, KY. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $15.42 - $15.42/hr.
