Job Description
As a Supply Technician, you will provide storage and distribution, cataloging or supply identification systems, property utilization, or other related supply activities including those associated with automated or manual supply accounting systems. Assist/perform the Property Book operations in the area of inventory and storage management, and equipment coordination. Analyze supply transactions or provide customer service for items requiring special handling.
Applicants should have:
A good working knowledge of the US Army supply systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines. An understanding of the needs of the organization serviced. Analytical ability to define or recognize the dimension of the problems involved, to collect the necessary data, to establish the facts, and to take or recommend action based upon application or interpretation of established g uidelines. Responsibilities Performs customer support functions, those processes used to support the total requirement of customers to gain logistics support in both combat and peacetime situations. Receives materials, parts, components and major assemblies to support the Government program. Performs Materiel and inventory of equipment and parts. May perform other administrative tasks as determined by the Supply Supervisor. Works in a supply environment establishing accountability of unit equipment and supplies. Works within a framework of established supply regulations, policies, and procedures, or other governing supply management guidelines. Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications Experience or training which demonstrates the knowledge in a variety of operations or situations concerned with substance or content of supply actions, requiring ability to decide course of action to take, considering the circumstances or conditions encountered and experience using computer and automation systems. A High School graduate or equivalent with good oral and written communications skills. Military or equivalent civilian training in the Army Supply System (i.e. GCSS-Army) is strongly desired. 3 years' experience in logistics, automation or supply management or a combination thereof is essential. Must possess and continuously maintain a current a Driver's License prior to starting. Must receive a favorable background check and drug testing results. Must be US Citizen and be able to obtain and maintain a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI) to obtain a CAC.Desired Qualifications:
Be Global Combat Support System- Army (GCSS-A) certified prior to coming onboard. Have 12 months of specialized experience, which includes. Knowledge of governing supply regulations, policies, procedures, and instructions applicable to the specific assignment, Conducting extensive searches for required information; reconstructing records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for activities involving specialized or unique supplies, equipment, or parts. Performing routine aspects of supply work based on practical knowledge of standard procedures, where assignments include individual case problems related to a limited segment in one of the major areas of supply management.
