Job Description
The Materials Supervisor is responsible for purchasing, inventory control and utilization of materials, supplies and equipment. Emphasis is on cost-effective utilization of materials and supplies. Manages activities of those engaged in the movement of raw or finished materials, storage, production scheduling and inventory control activities. Position Responsibilities may include; Train, instruct and supervise employees using established and new material management/flow methods to ensure on-time delivery of correct count of products/materials in a safe and timely manner to meet production demands. Provide work assignments, execute schedules, respond to changes, procure parts and communicate production demands to employees as well as perform quality and safety audits and generate maintenance. Ensure that workplace safety and housekeeping is maintained at acceptable levels at all times. Works with other planners, vendors, supervisors and managers to ensure that production schedules are met on a daily basis. Complete reports related to safety, quality, cost and delivery. Develop and implement effective, permanent corrective actions. Responsible for supervising the kitting process of components and parts needed for manufacturing/production. Verify and approve employees' working time utilizing Kronos System. Manage levels and accuracy of inventory, along with outside suppliers to achieve high on time delivery performance and material flow efficiency. Coordinate the allocation of manpower requirements across the shifts based on production requirements, equipment capabilities, utilization and plant needs. Maintain an equipment structure and level to accomplish the tasks in a safe, effective manner. Provide appropriate equipment to ensure the safe transport and storage of all materials. Oversee the movement of material from receiving to controlled storage in an efficient, effective, and safe manner. Meet or exceed numerous operational metrics as related to the shift of responsibility. Provide a safe work environment that is free from recognized hazards that cause or are likely to cause physical harm to our employees, take corrective actions to eliminate recognized hazards, and hold accountable employees for actions required to comply with our safe practices, policies, and procedures. Maintain high employee morale through good employee-management relations and through knowledge of policies where applicable. Recognize and inform higher supervision of hourly employees' capabilities. Perform other work or projects as assigned by Manager.

Knowledge of materials/warehouse inventory best practices and procedures Working knowledge with warehouse management systems Working knowledge of 5S, Lean and Kaizen methodologies and best practices Prior working knowledge of MAPICS and Kronos is preferred Proficient in Microsoft Office•Outlook, Excel and Word Effective team development and project supervision and delegation skills Established history creating a culture of engaged employees Excellent verbal and written communication skills including questioning/listening skills•with ability to determine facts about situations High level of attention and effective problem-solving skills Good analytical ability and ability to follow up required Ability to apply good judgement, strong work ethics and integrity on the job Knowledge of Production Daikin System and Flexible Manufacturing System (in-house training/certification)Experience:
2•3 years of prior lead/supervisor work experience in a receiving, materials, or warehouse capacity 5 plus years of experience in a high volume, multi-shift manufacturing production environmentEducation:
High School Diploma or GED required, College degree is preferred PDS/FMS Certification•obtained through in-house training programPeople Management:
