Job Description

Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract Step into a dynamic surgical environment at a leading healthcare facility renowned for its breadth of services and academic excellence. As a Certified Surgical Technologist or Operating Room Technician, you will collaborate with dedicated professionals, utilizing advanced technology in a Level I Trauma and Chest Pain Center with 900+ licensed beds.
Schedule/Hours:
12-hour day shifts, 07:00-19:00, totaling 36 hours per week Late call rotation: 19:00-23:00 once weekly Weekend call required approximately every 6-8 weeks (Saturday 06:00 through Monday 06:00, 1-hour response time) Expectation to work 50% of holidays during the contract No floating responsibilities
Qualifications:
Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program (CST preferred) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification A minimum of 2 years' experience at a Level I or II Trauma Center is mandatory (Level III not accepted) High proficiency in handling diverse surgical cases, including general, minimally invasive, robotic, GYN, transplant, plastics, orthopedic trauma, neuro, and head/neck free flaps Strong ortho trauma and microsurgery experience Not open to first-time travelers Must reside outside a 50-mile radius from the facility
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain sterile surgical environments Anticipate surgeon's needs during a range of complex procedures Support patient safety and adhere to protocols using advanced systems (EPIC EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing) Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, anesthesia/CRNA teams, and support staff Participate in thorough orientation to ensure comfort and integration into the team
