About the
Role:
The Surgical Tech Endo Tech plays a critical role in supporting surgical teams during endoscopic procedures by preparing and maintaining specialized equipment and ensuring a sterile environment. This position requires meticulous attention to detail to assist surgeons and nurses effectively, facilitating smooth and safe operations. The role involves managing endoscopic instruments, troubleshooting technical issues, and ensuring all equipment is properly sterilized and functioning. The Surgical Tech Endo Tech also collaborates closely with healthcare professionals to anticipate procedural needs and respond promptly to dynamic surgical environments. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to patient safety and the overall success of endoscopic surgeries within healthcare facilities.
Minimum Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program. Certification as a Surgical Technologist (CST) or equivalent. Basic knowledge of endoscopic equipment and surgical procedures. Ability to maintain sterile techniques and follow infection control standards.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience working as a Surgical Tech in endoscopy or minimally invasive surgery settings. Additional certification or training specific to endoscopic technology. Familiarity with advanced endoscopic imaging systems and troubleshooting. Strong understanding of anatomy related to endoscopic procedures. Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and sterilize endoscopic instruments and equipment prior to surgical procedures. Assist surgeons and nursing staff during endoscopic surgeries by passing instruments and managing equipment. Set up and test endoscopic video and imaging systems to ensure proper functionality. Maintain a sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols throughout procedures. Monitor and troubleshoot technical issues with endoscopic devices during surgeries. Inventory and restock surgical supplies and equipment to ensure readiness for upcoming procedures. Document equipment usage and maintenance activities accurately in compliance with hospital policies. Collaborate with surgical team members to anticipate procedural needs and enhance workflow efficiency.
