Maintains accountability for the provision of surgical instruments to the surgical team. Coordinates the care of the surgical patient with other team members. Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

High-School Diploma or GED are required. You may be asked to provide proof of education.

Licensure:

Non-certified applicants may be considered for this position with acceptable surgical technology experience.

Experience:

Certifications:

American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required.

• Listens to physicians and communicates need to circulator in advance (anticipates).
• Anticipates needs of surgeon by paying attention and responding appropriately.
• Recognizes and reports emergency situations.
• Communicates with physician, confirms correct specimen and disposition to circulator (under the direction of physician.
• Communicates delays or completion before scheduled time to circulator to ensure efficient room utilization or schedule changes.
• Communicates instrument and equipment problems to appropriate team member and identifies repair needs according to policy. Technology
• Demonstrates competence in initiating and maintaining use of routine equipment and procedures.
• Performs technical skills relative to specific specialties i.e., assembling instrumentation and equipment (retractors, power equipment, etc.)
• Assists in evaluation of new products, equipment, policies, procedures and standard
• Fills out appropriate paperwork to assist with decisions. Stewardship Awareness
• Plans, organizes and evaluates work activities appropriately.
• Works efficiently and quickly producing high quality work.
