Surgical Technologist - Pelham, AL

Category Nursing - ORT Job Type Contract A rewarding opportunity awaits skilled professionals with experience in Nursing (ORT), Surgical Tech (certified and non-certified) for a 13-week assignment. This role features a predictable Monday through Friday daytime schedule, with working hours from 7:30 AM to 4:00 PM, ensuring excellent work-life balance. The assignment will primarily support surgical cases at Inverness or Hoover OMS locations.

Key Qualifications:

Demonstrated experience as a Surgical Tech (certified or non-certified) or ORT Nurse in a clinical or hospital operating room environment Strong understanding of surgical procedures, sterile technique, and infection control practices Ability to assist surgical teams efficiently, anticipate needs, and adapt to evolving situations Effective communication and teamwork skills to foster a positive surgical environment Certification for Surgical Techs preferred, but non-certified professionals with adequate experience will be considered

Role Responsibilities:

Prepare operating rooms for a variety of surgical procedures, ensuring all instruments, equipment, and supplies are sterile and ready Support the surgical team by passing instruments, maintaining sterile fields, and assisting with patient positioning Monitor and uphold all safety protocols and infection control standards during procedures Collaborate closely with surgeons, nurses, and anesthesia providers throughout each case Safely manage surgical specimens and maintain accurate, timely documentation Participate in equipment cleaning, maintenance, and turnover to keep rooms ready for subsequent cases
