Job Description

TITLE:
Survey Technician
RESPONSIBLE/REPORTING TO
Supervising Land Surveyor (RLS)
ROLE:
AJAX is looking for experienced Survey Technicians to perform a wide variety of surveying services including but not limited to construction staking, property boundaries, topographic mapping, as-built surveys, flood certifications, aerial mapping (drones in air) and bathymetric surveys (drones on water bodies).
LOCATION
This position is located in Globe, Arizona. This is a rural area approximately 80 miles from the Phoenix metropolitan area. This historic town is at an altitude of approximately 3,500 feet located in the heart of Arizona's Tonto National Forest, which includes rugged terrain and nearby elevations up to 7,800 feet amsl. The summers are hot, dry, and mostly clear and the winters are cold and partly cloudy. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from 34°F to 96°F and is rarely below 26°F or above 101°F. Precipitation is highly variable, averaging 20 inches per year.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Qualified candidates must be experienced with RTK GPS, Total Stations, Levels and data collectors. CAD Experience is a plus. A minimum of 3 years prior experience as a Survey Technician is required and salary will depend upon experience.
Knowledge and practical use of:
(1) land surveying principles and practices, (2) survey instruments and equipment; (3) intermediate mathematics as applied to survey work. Perform operations with data collector to stake out various construction features. Prepare field notes.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of three (3) years of land surveying experience. CAD software experience is a plus. FAA Part 107 Pilot License is a plus (Drone/UAV) Commitment to excellence and high standards. Acute attention to detail. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work with all staff levels. Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills; able to manage priorities and workflow. Good judgement with the ability to make timely and sound decisions Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm. Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions. Ability to communicate professionally and effectively in person, on the phone, electronically, or through other means to individuals and groups.

SCHEDULE
Typical work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 to 10 hour shifts, with occasional weekends.
