Sustainable Grain Manager Hennepin, IL 61327 $50,000

  • Full-time Duties and Responsibilities Serve as the primary liaison between third-party vendors and Marquis Grain partners.
Collaborate closely with the Director of Carbon Certification and the Data Analyst to drive data-driven sustainability initiatives. Facilitate engagement with local farmers, grain elevators, and industry professionals to develop and promote Marquis's carbon reduction efforts. Advocate for sustainable agriculture by hosting and coordinating group events with farmers, sharing the company's long-term vision, and driving enrollment in sustainability programs. Oversee sustainability audits for the Marquis plant, affiliated elevators, and partner farms, acting as the lead facilitator between auditors and stakeholders. Manage end-to-end documentation for plant and elevator audits to ensure full compliance with regulatory standards. Coordinate and attend seasonal farm audits, providing on-site support and guidance to growers during the process. Maintain expert-level knowledge by attending training sessions for the ISCC (International Sustainability & Carbon Certification) and monitoring emerging carbon programs. Manage the mass balance of sustainable grain flow from all certified suppliers and oversee the mass balance of sustainable ethanol shipments to international customers. Optimize logistics by coordinating sustainable grain deliveries with all certified elevators. Ensure data integrity by managing the monthly documentation of sustainable grain deliveries to all certified elevators. Participate in regular meetings with the ethanol trading team regarding sustainable demand, sales, and shipments. Represent Marquis at industry conferences and meetings focused on carbon intensity, biofuels, and environmental stewardship. Lead internal and external strategy sessions to advance the company's position on Carbon Intensity (CI) and sustainability initiatives. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in agriculture or a related field; or 2+ years of hands-on experience within the agricultural industry.
