Job Description
Swine Barn Maintenance The Swine Barn Maintenance's primary responsibility is to perform ongoing maintenance and complete repairs on equipment to keep the swine process running smoothly. Duties include a variety of building and land maintenance tasks involving building repair and manure management. In this role you should expect to Perform general and preventative maintenance of mechanical and electrical equipment inside and outside the farm Pump manure from pits Maintain grounds outside facility - this includes trash removal, operating tractor to cut grass/fields, removal of snow/ice on roads in winter, adding gravel due to wash out Mowing Weed-cutting Bush-hogging Complete all maintenance tasks related to electrical, carpentry, welding, heating, ventilation, plumbing, and other miscellaneous duties as assigned Troubleshoot and diagnose problems, repair and/or replace parts Control pests on property and in buildings (rodents, insects) Maintain compost pile Champion a Safety Culture Follow and adhere to all company policies and procedures Other duties as assigned Who you are At least 18 years of age Strong organizational skills General maintenance skills including electrical and welding experience Ability to follow detailed instructions Detail-oriented Self-directed Dependable Ability to operate various hand tools, power tools, machinery, and heavy equipment Time management and multitasking abilities Ability to respond to emergencies on property outside of normal working hours Maintain and sustain a clean driving record Physical Requirements Must be able to lift 50 lbs. frequently and up to 25 pounds repeatedly Must be able to stand for prolonged periods of time Must be able to walk, sit, bend, kneel, stoop, climb Ability to work in all weather conditions (heat and cold) Able to work in dusty environments Ability to drive and operate company truck Repetitive use of both hands While no job description can anticipate or encompass all the duties required by the job, this description is designed to give a general understanding of job expectations.
