Job Description

Position Overview We are seeking a motivated machine operator to run and support structural processing machines. This role is designed for individuals interested in modern manufacturing systems and who want hands-on experience beyond traditional machine operation. The operator will focus on safe machine operation, production goals, preventative maintenance, and material logging through Tekla EPM software. Key Responsibilities Set up, operate, load, and verify CNC programs (Vacam, Peddinghouse, Pronest, Piecemaker) Set up and operate CNC machines (Band saws, Beamline drills, Coping machines, Plasma table, Hydraulic ironworkers, Punching machines, Press brakes) Monitor cutting and processing operations to ensure quality and efficiency Perform part inspections and verify dimensional accuracy Adjust machine settings and tooling to achieve industry standard tolerance Accurately track material information and perform basic data input for inventory tracking Operate safely within work areas by following all safety protocols, including proper handling of material and use of hand tools Maintain an organized and clean working environment Identify abnormal machine behavior and escalate issues clearly and accurately Coordinate with team for production scheduling, processing, and organization of production Accurately note and log production statuses for shift transfers Gain Hands-On Exposure To Basic electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems for material processing machines Automation logic and Lean manufacturing processes Observe and assist during OEM service visits Troubleshooting, maintenance, and calibration activities led by senior staff • Required Qualifications Proficiency in reading, measuring, and interpreting technical drawings for structural steel fabrication and assembly processes Ability to follow procedures and work safely in an industrial environment Basic computer and touchscreen interface skills Willingness to learn, ask questions, and grow technically Reliable attendance and strong work ethic Geometry and manufacturing/fabrication mathematics (coordinates, angle calculation, trigonometry, fractions, multiplication, division) • Why Join Our Team Stable, year-round work Modern fabrication equipment Opportunities to learn multiple machines Team-oriented shop environment

$18.50 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week
