SX Plant Operator

Market Competitive - DOE Under the supervision of the Solvent Extraction Electrowinning (SX/EW) Operations Supervisor, the SX/EW Operator supports the operation of the SX/EW process.

Responsibilities:

Coordinates with the Operator Assistant and others regarding the daily operations of the SX/EW Plant Understands the circuit of the SX/EW Plant and the operational procedures and policies Uses the Distributed Control System (DCS) to monitor and make process control changes as needed for optimal plant operation Responsible for organic recovery process including directing appropriate treatment procedures Responsible for recordkeeping regarding SX Control Room operations Able to manage shut-down and start-up of plant including following procedures as required Operates all process equipment, including filters, heaters, plate and frame filter, rectifiers Directs the collection of frequent samples and lab analysis, as needed Uses assay results to make appropriate adjustments to the SX/EW circuit Conducts inspections of process equipment, pumps, ponds, pump stations and workplace Coordinates with the Wellfield Operator for flow distribution and adjustments Assists the EW Operator and others with the daily operations of the SX/EW Plant and Wellfield Operates the pressure washer, forklift and small tools Performs area housekeeping to include cleaning, sweeping, washing down the plant, etc. Performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

High School diploma or equivalent Must have and maintain a valid driver's license Two years' experience in an industrial setting, SX/EW Plant experience preferred Ability to interpret documents, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals Ability to solve practical problems and deal with situations where limited information exists Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral and diagram, or schedule form Proficient in basic computer operations, including using previously created templates

Good verbal and writing skills including the ability to read, write and speak English Must have the ability to work in a team environment Must be able to work rotating shifts including days, night and weekends
