Summary The System Service Representative is responsible for completing service orders involving the disconnection, reconnection, installation, reading, and investigation of meters and/or service at residential, commercial, and industrial premises. This role requires advanced skills in cutting or reconnecting electric service at a weatherhead, pole, handhole, transformer, or line fuse link/disconnect. Orders may require pole climbing or the use of a bucket truck. All orders must be completed safely and within prescribed timeframes, ensuring proper delivery and measurement of electric energy. Key Roles & Responsibilities Use proper test equipment to determine voltage levels and guard against faulty or hazardous conditions. Disconnect and reconnect service using advanced skills at the meter, weatherhead, handhole, pole, transformer, or fuse link/disconnect for installations less than 600 volts. Ensure service orders are completed within specified timeframes across a diverse geographic area while adhering to company safety rules and regulations. Operate a bucket truck and perform pole-climbing activities. Evaluate premises for proper metering and service delivery and identify and investigate any diversion of energy due to improper or faulty wiring or metering. Perform all essential job functions, as well as any other assigned duties. Skills Certification in the use of volt, ohm, and amp meters, as well as load and fault devices, is encouraged. Basic Computer skills. Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills. Education & Experience High school diploma, GED, or equivalent is required. A valid Texas driver's license is required.   • Successful completion of the Measurement Services System Service Representative Senior Training Program is required. System Service Rep II
  • Successful completion of the Measurement Services System Service Representative Senior Training Program and Skills 1 & 2 classes (6 months).is required. System Service Rep Sr.
  • Successful completion of the Measurement Services System Service Representative Senior Training Program, or two years of current experience performing electrical distribution work at secondary voltage using a bucket truck and pole climbing.
