Tax Accountant

Tax Accountant Are you a CPA or CPA-track tax professional looking for flexibility in your schedule? Do you want to work full-time during tax season but scale back — or even take time off — during the rest of the year? An established professional services firm in the Southtowns of Western New York is seeking a Tax Accountant to join their team in a flexible, seasonal-style role. This position offers an hourly range of $25-$28 per hour, depending on experience, along with bonus opportunities. This is a unique opportunity to work full-time during busy season (January-April) and transition to a reduced schedule or time off during the remainder of the year. This is an on-site position in Buffalo, NY Responsibilities Prepare and review individual (1040), partnership, and corporate tax returns Assist with tax planning and advisory services Work directly with clients to gather financial information Support tax compliance and reporting processes Maintain accurate documentation and client records Assist with advisory and accounting support as needed Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting required CPA or CPA track required 1+ year of tax or accounting experience preferred - not required Strong understanding of tax preparation and compliance Excellent attention to detail and organization Ability to work independently and manage workload during peak season What Makes Someone Successful in This Role Values flexibility and work-life balance Comfortable working at a faster pace during busy season Self-motivated and able to manage workload independently Enjoys a smaller, team-oriented environment Strong communication and client interaction skills Compensation & Benefits Hourly rate: $25-$28/hr + bonus opportunities Bonus payouts after tax season and at year-end 100% employer-paid health insurance (single coverage, prorated if applicable) Employer HSA contributions
