Job Description

We are currently recruiting for a Tax Manager for a close-knit company that prides itself on serving the community. The Tax Manager position is a temp-to-hire opportunity that can be direct hire for the right fit located in Santa Ynez, CA. The schedule is very flexible (see below), with a pay scale ranging between $80,000 and $120,000 annually. •

Duties & Responsibilities:
Tax Compliance:
Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns to ensure accuracy and compliance with all tax laws and regulations.
Tax Planning:
Develop and implement tax strategies to minimize tax liabilities and enhance tax efficiency for the organization.
Research and Analysis:
Stay current on changes in tax legislation and assess the impact on client organizations. Conduct thorough research on complex tax issues and prepare technical memoranda as necessary.
Audit Coordination:
Manage and coordinate tax audits when they arise, working closely with external auditors and regulatory agencies to ensure a smooth process.
Team Leadership:
Supervise and mentor junior tax staff and operation team, providing guidance and support in their professional development.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain comprehensive documentation for all tax-related matters and prepare reports for senior management.
Skills & Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or other relevant certification preferred. Minimum of 5 years of experience in tax management or public accounting, with a range of experience in Individual, Corporate, Partnership, Fiduciary, and Exempt entities. Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail. Proficient in Lacerte tax software, QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Slack, Canopy Tax, CFS, Zoom, Webex, Adobe, and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
