Essential Functions Engagement Leadership:
Direct the planning, preparation, and complex review of individual and business tax returns, including multi-state and pass-through entities, ensuring total compliance with firm and regulatory standards.
Strategic Advisory:
Serve as a high-level consultant for clients, providing proactive tax planning, cash flow projections, and sophisticated advisory services tailored to their long-term financial goals.
Technical Excellence:
Conduct deep-dive research into complex federal and state tax issues, delivering well-documented findings that provide clear, actionable paths for the firm and its clients.
Client Relationship Management:
Act as a primary firm ambassador, fostering trusted, "white-glove" relationships through responsive communication and high-impact service.
Team Development & Mentorship:
Champion the professional growth of tax staff by providing active mentorship, technical training, and constructive performance feedback.
Operational Oversight:
Collaborate with partners to optimize workflow, manage engagement profitability (realization), and strategically allocate resources across the team.
Business Development:
Identify opportunities for expanded client services and participate in firm-wide growth initiatives and networking.
Modern Tax Integration:
Leverage advanced tax automation and AI-driven tools to enhance accuracy, streamline review processes, and improve the client experience.
Strategic Support:
Assist firm leadership with operational and administrative responsibilities, contributing to the firm's overall vision and excellence.
Qualifications Education:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; Master's in Taxation (MST) or Master of Accountancy (MAcc) highly preferred.
Certification:
Active CPA license (Required).
Experience:
A minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in public accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or management-level role.
Leadership Presence:
Proven ability to lead and inspire a team in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment while maintaining a focus on quality and staff wellness.
Advanced Problem Solving:
A solution-oriented mindset with the ability to navigate complex business challenges and provide "big picture" strategic recommendations.
Communication Mastery:
Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to translate complex tax concepts into clear advice for professionals at all levels.
Tech-Savvy:
Proficiency with modern tax software and a commitment to adopting emerging technologies (AI, automation) to improve departmental efficiency.
