Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract An exciting opportunity awaits for skilled paraprofessionals looking to make a difference in a middle school setting near Waterbury, CT. This contract position features two full-time roles, each supporting a student one-on-one with a moderate caseload. You'll work 35 hours per week in a dynamic educational environment, helping students achieve their potential both academically and socially.
Key Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years' experience as a paraprofessional or behavior technician in a school setting Comfortable working one-on-one with middle school students Ability to support students with moderate needs and adapt to different learning styles Strong communication and collaboration skills with teachers, staff, and parents Dependable, patient, and able to maintain a positive attitude Experience collecting data and implementing behavior or learning plans is highly preferred
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide dedicated 1:1 support to assigned middle school students during classroom activities, transitions, and breaks Assist students with academic tasks and behavioral goals as directed by classroom teachers and specialists Implement individualized strategies to encourage student engagement and growth Foster independence, self-advocacy, and positive interactions among students Support documentation efforts by tracking student progress and behaviors accurately Participate in team meetings, training, and regular communication with the school team This is your chance to engage meaningfully with students and serve as a vital resource in their educational journey.
