This assignment is structured for 30 hours per week, with a consistent schedule of 6-hour days from 9:15 a.m. to 3:45 p.m., working 1:1 in an ASD classroom setting. The primary focus will be on supporting a fourth-grade male student who requires prompting for toileting and is independent with feeding. You'll play a vital role in providing safety, individualized instruction, and positive reinforcement, especially around elopement behaviors and personalized learning needs.

Desired Qualifications:

Associate's degree or higher required Minimum of 2 years of experience in a paraprofessional role, ideally within special education settings Valid paraprofessional credentials (required given the timing of placement) Background or expertise supporting students with ASD and/or behavioral needs Ability to provide attentive, compassionate support and implement individualized strategies Strong communication skills and collaborative approach with classroom staff

Key Responsibilities:

Offer day-to-day 1:1 assistance to a student with ASD in accordance with the IEP and classroom guidelines Provide prompting for toileting and ensure student safety, particularly around elopement risks Assist with classroom activities, transitions, and individualized instruction Monitor student progress, communicating observations to team members Foster an inclusive, supportive, and positive classroom environment The assignment runs through 6/4/26, with a potential extension into ESY contingent on performance.
